LSCC CLUBHOUSE

29006 216th Avenue SE Black Diamond, WA 98010
You may have driven by the green roofed building near Brown's Automotive, Rooters, and The Lake Sawyer Grocery and not given it a second thought. The sign out front says Maple Valley School of Ballet and Lake Sawyer Community Club. What the sign doesn't tell you is what a bustling hub of activity the place is, and that you are able to rent this building for your special events. In the year 2012 alone, the clubhouse was rented and decorated for many events. A few of them were: "Big Number Birthdays - 40, 60, 70, 18, and 6! Bridal and Baby Showers, a Team Appreciation banquet, the Tahoma High School 30th Reunion, Memorial Services, Rehearsal Dinners, Wedding Receptions, and a Home Business Bazaar.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Can I become a member and get the reduced rate?
We welcome new members, however membership is limited to owners and renters of properties abutting Lake Sawyer per the LSCC ByLaws.
Q. Why a Damage Deposit?
There have been a few, but costly, accidents during rentals. The Ballet School has a mirror-lined wall and at one event a mirror was broken. Leaking coolers were placed on the wood floor and the resulting damage was well over $1000. Of course if you leave it clean and un-damage, your deposit fee is fully refundable. The overwhelming majority of our events result in fully refunded deposits.
Q. Is there a written agreement?
Yes. There is a simple, straight forward contract that you can download or read by clicking here: Rental Contract.
Q. Are the cleanup requirements available for me to view?
Yes, they're posted in the kitchen on the refrigerator and you can download them by clicking here: Cleanup Instructions.
Q. What about live music or loud music? If you plan on a band or a DJ, extra care and precautions must be taken to protect the facility. Heavy amplifiers, metal microphone stands, drum sets, and other accessories and instrument cases can damage the hardwood flooring. However over the years, there have been some really great parties, DJ's, live music, etc. But others have been too loud and disruptive to the people living in the neighborhood, and those parties were shut down by the local police. We want you and your guests to have fun, however you are responsible for keeping the noise down to acceptable levels.
Q. We are planning to serve alcohol, are there any permits required? If there will be alcohol at your event, LSCC requires you to comply will all Washington State regulations regarding the serving of alcohol. State regulations require a permit for the service of alcohol. You are responsible for obtaining this permit. Information is available here: Banquet Permit
The City of Black Diamond may require a “Special Event Permit” be issued 30 days prior to your event. It is your responsibility to check with the City and find out their requirements.
