At this meeting the board:

o Heard and approved March 10, 1992 board meeting minutes.

o Heard Treasurer's Report - Savings $11,286.58, Checking $206.14. 60 paid members. 33 questionnaires have been returned. Approved yearly insurance payment of $1,XXX and approved postage stamp purchase.

o Clubhouse Managers Report - Approved payment of $5.00 and hour for a local teenager to do regular lawnmowing and weeding at clubhouse.

o Announcements:

- Pat Trotter of the Alpine Lake Flyfishers Club recently contacted the club wanting to know who owns and controls the weir at the outlet of Lake Sawyer. His group recently spotted silver salmon in Ravensdale Creek, but feels that the weir may not be up to fish ladder standards. He said the salmon may be coming up through Lake Sawyer but not all are making it down the creek again. Doug told him he thought the Army Corp of Engineers controlled it. John Davies will look into it to help determine the true owner/operator.

- Bob Eaton recently attended a ecology meeting. A representative of the group may be available to speak to the community about cleaning up the lake.

- Dick talked to Gary Ulrich from Sheerwater Services regarding milfoil cutting. Gary has gotten a verbal approval for a permit after June 1, 1992.

OLD BUSINESS

o Clubhouse telephone has been installed. Installation was $130, with a $32.70 per month fee. The Ballet school will re-imburse us the monthly fee for the months the school is in session (usually 9 months).

o Isolation Planter - Our first source for railroad ties proved unsuccessful. We have found another source for good priced railroad ties. We will announce a date for installation and solicit volunteers in the next newsletter.

o Transfer Station Impact Committee Report - Bob Rothschilds gave a summary of the letter LSCC sent to Public Utilities concerning the siting of the proposed transfer station at Site D in Lake Sawyer's inlet drainage basin.

o Recreation Night - Steve reported that Rec Night has started. The Clubhouse is open every Thursday night from 8:00 to 10:00PM for ping-pong. We are looking for donations/loans of ping-pong tables and other indoor game equipment (Pool table, board games, etc.) for all age groups. Admission is free for members, non-members are $1.50.

o Spring Fling 1992 - Julie reported that the Spring Fling will be Saturday May 16th, with Music-to-Go by Tom Markus as the DJ. Details will be provide in the next newsletter.

o Bylaws Revision Committee Report - 2 meetings have been called. One was cancelled. Initial work has been discussed but final submittal of a comprehensive revision, as planned will probably not be ready for the May general meeting. A couple of minor revisions necessary to allow us to continue in compliance will be presented at the general meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

o Clubhouse Floor Maintenance - Questions concerning the clubhouse floor maintenance were discussed. Maintenance (probably just a waxing) is most likely to occur during the summer, after the Ballet School lets out. The Ballet School prefers a less slippery floor, so a 3 month "wear-in" period will be used. Bob Eaton indicated that the hardwood flooring is pretty thin in places due to past extensive maintenance/repair, so care must be taken if sanding is to take place in the future. Julie will look into specific requirements and costs and report at the next meeting.

o Arts and Crafts Instruction - A person previously using King Co. facilities has expressed an interest in using our clubhouse to teach Arts & Crafts. The board agreed this would benefit the community and authorized discussions with the person to negotiate details concerning clubhouse usage fees, hours/days, and Community Club member preference.

o Election Committee - Doug will chair the committee with all board members on the committee. Doug requested that each outgoing board member suggest their replacement and that all board members take the next two weeks to come up with potential candidates. The general meeting is stated by the bylaws to be the second Sunday in May. However, because that is Mother's day, the meeting will be held later that week at 7:00PM. Doug will determine the exact day and announce it in the newsletter. The proposed agenda was discussed. A 'draw' speaker is proposed. All members are requested to contact potential speakers and report to Doug.

o WALPA Workshop - Ruth was contacted by WALPA (Washington Lakes Protection Association) to use our clubhouse for a workshop presentation on Saturday May 30th. They will set up booths regarding ecology especially concerning the small lakes in the area. They also asked if we would co-sponser the workshop. The board voted to help sponser this program by donating the hall at no fee and to be listed as a co-sponser in the brochure.

o Formation of standing committees - Doug stated that by having a list of standing committees, it would help the club (members and new boardmembers) determine the 'available' positions and help run the club more efficiently. This list could be added to or subtracted from by the board, as necessary. A motion was made and passed. The current committees and chairs are:

4th of July - Steve Garvich Spring Fling Dance - Julie Geiger

Santa Boat - (open) New Years Dance - (open)

Election - Doug Geiger Halloween Party-Adults - (open)

Marine Patrol - Bob Eaton Halloween Pary-Children - (open)

Transfer Station Impact - Bob Rothschilds Parks And Recreation - (open)

Membership - Steve Garvich Clubhouse Maintenance - (open)

Bylaws - John Davies Environment - Grayson Conner

Lake Quality Monitoring - Ruth Ward Subsets: Surface Water Mgmt (open)

Septic/Sewer (open)

Land Use (open)

o Conflict Resolution Committee - Board voted against having this committee. We will look into individual cases as the y come to the board for consideration, but does not want to be regarded as a grievance committee, allowing that to be covered between individuals and/or the governing agencies.

o 1992 Lake Patrol Enforcement Options - King Co. presently has a boat back on the lake, but no staff to run it. County is looking into removing one marine officer from Lk Sammamish and having that officer split his duty between Lake Meridian and Lake Sawyer. Bob suggests residents write letters to Kent Pullen's Office and request marine officers, especially on weekends and holidays.

Meeting adjourned at 10:37PM.

Respectfully Submitted,
