LSCC Minutes for Board Meeting
May 10, 2000
The meeting was called to order at 7: 45 PM. Present
were Robert, Annette, Janie, Ulla, Dave, Sam, Al, Sue and Dave. Absent
was Don. Also present was Chuck Kemman.
-
Minutes from April were approved.
-
The Treasurer's Report was presented in a new format showing rental activity
and other clubhouse activity. If any member in good standing would
like to see a copy of the Treasurer's Report, please contact Ulla Kemman
for that information.
-
We had a brief discussion regarding publishing the Treasurer's Report on
the web-site and decided not to do that. We discussed that any member
of the Community Club that is interested in the figures can contact the
treasurer for that information.
-
About 30 people attended the Non-dock Party. Additional Dock Parties
will be hosted this summer by the Geiger Family and the Ross Family.
-
4th of July Activity: This year's theme is “The Olympics.” Dave and Sam
are working on the committees. Robert Schueler volunteered to head
up the Fun Run this year. Many thanks to Cheri and Jeff Merrill for
their years of hosting the Fun Run. Janie volunteered to research
costs on trophies/medallions/prizes for the Fun Run.
-
Robert will present a budget at the next meeting for the Fun Run.
-
Old Business: Janie passed out new rosters with dock numbers.
Kevin will start with the first 50 docks when the numbers get in.
-
Oil Tank Replacement: It appears that a small amount of rust is normal
in oil tanks, and our tank does not need to be replaced.
-
Clubhouse: The window was replaced in the clubhouse and the locks
were repaired. We decided to rekey the locks. Janie volunteered
to take care of this.
-
Member status: According to our by-laws, we have three types of members.
Assuming that dues are paid on an annual basis, a Full Member is one who
lives on the lake or canals; an Associate Member is one who has lake access
or is a renter; they have all benefits of regular membership except they
can't vote or hold office. A Social Member is one who is sponsored
by a Member, and they can't vote or hold office. We voted to change the
Clubhouse Rental Policy so that the rental rate for Members in good standing
refers to Full Members only.
-
We discussed items for the newsletter, including a summary of the costs
associated with the 4th of July to encourage residents to pay their dues;
and an ongoing listing of what the Community Club funds throughout the
year.
-
The Board voted to allow the Lake Sawyer Christian Church the use of the
clubhouse for a Garage Sale on May 13.
-
The meeting was adjourned around 9:30 PM.
