LSCC Minutes for Board Meeting
November 15, 2000

Al Hermann called the meeting to order at 6:15 PM.  Present, in addition to Al, were Janie, Robert, Annette, Ulla and Sue.  Absent were Dave, Don and Sam.
  • Minutes from the October meeting were approved.
  • The Treasurer’s Report was approved.  We had to purchase a new oil tank due to problems with the old tank. Any member in good standing who would like to see a copy of the Treasurer’s Report can contact Ulla Kemman.
  • Old Business
  • Mike Cline and Steve Garvich have volunteered to do the Santa "raft" this year.  Kevin has also volunteered the Police Boat if we need it.  Sue is trying to put a group of people together for the Police Boat to sing carols and collect food for a food drive during the Santa Boat activity. We had a brief discussion of trying to limit the Santa boat activity to members in good standing or getting year 2000 dues paid by lake residents wanting gifts dropped off.  We discussed a map of the lake for the gifts and drop-off points.
  • New Business
  • The Volunteer Fire Department of Black Diamond asked to use the clubhouse for a Christmas party at the member rate.  Allan suggested we let them use the clubhouse and ask them to make a donation to the Food Bank or other local charity in the amount of the clubhouse rental.  That motion was passed.
  • Annette suggested instructions for turning the heat on in the clubhouse.  The key to the furnace is located in the desk drawer and it is not always apparent to those using the facility how to turn the heat on.
  • Ulla mentioned that at the last cleanup, someone found a soft spot in the kitchen that needs to be looked into for possible dryrot, or other problem.
  • The newsletter deadline is December 6th.
  • The meeting was adjourned around 6:55 PM and it looked like a good turnout for the PBRS (Public Benefit Rating System) meeting that followed our CC meeting.
  • Addendum to minutes:  The Maple Valley Food Bank will be used for families for Thanksgiving. We will offer two $25 gift certificates and fill two bags of food.  We also have three families for the giving tree. Gift tags to be put at the Lake Sawyer store.
