LSCC Minutes for Board Meeting
April 11, 2001
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Present
were Steve Garvich, Carol Benson, Robert Schueler and Janie Edelman.
-
It had been decided to move the meeting from 7:45 in the future.
Since there was not a quorum we quickly went through the agenda.
-
Meeting minutes were not read. Carol presented the Treasurer’s report.
She said that we currently have 79 members paid for 2001, up from last
year at this time. She also has made up a list of benefits of being
a member of the community club. There was a short discussion about
the clubhouse taxes. Carol will contact Cindy Kerley for information
on rentals last year.
-
Carol and Robert are coordinating the repair of the kitchen floor.
-
Ulla Kemman will be heading up a membership drive. She will be available
after May.
-
Steve has the following 4th of July committees: Fireworks:
Dave Peters and Sam Kerley, Canvassing: Cindy Kerley, Paddleboat/canoe/kayak
races: Gardiners, Adult volleyball: Geigers, Boat Parade:
Polly Rohrbach (Edelmans if Polly can’t do it), Fun Run: Robert Schueler.
Steve will contact Annette Thompson about teen volleyball, Dan Hucke for
the fishing derby, and Bob Rothschilds for the ski races.
-
Janie agreed to provide a list to Cindy Kerley for the canvassing and will
make up the baskets for the boat parade and best decorated dock prizes.
-
May 19th is adopt a road day. It was suggested that the nondock party
be moved to the same day. The newsletter inputs are due at the next
meeting. We also need a boat parade theme.
-
There was a discussion about having a community sign on the corner of SE
288th and 232nd Ave. SE. Janie will contact Rob Shuey in the city
planning department to see what we can do.
-
We discussed what marine patrol issues we have. It was the consensus
that violators should be ticketed, not just continually warned, to make
the lake safer and some boaters are driving too fast inside the buoys.
Personal watercraft continue to be a problem too.
ACTION ITEMS:
-
Carol to get with Cindy Kerley on taxes.
-
Janie to contact Black Diamond on the community sign.
-
Robert and Carol to hire a contractor to fix kitchen floor.
-
Bring ideas for boat parade theme.
The meeting adjourned at 8:55 pm.
Respectfully submitted
Janie Edelman
