LSCC Minutes for Board Meeting
July 20, 2001
Lake Sawyer Community Club
Meeting Minutes
The meeting started at 6:30 pm. Present were Carol Benson, Bob
Rothschilds, Steve Garvich, Annette Thompson, Orville Peterson, Julie Geiger
and Janie Edelman. Missing were Dave Newberry, Robert Schueler.
-
A brief description of the meeting minutes from last month was read and
approved. During the debriefing of the 4th of July activities, it
was decided that we should decide a theme earlier so people can have more
time to decide what to do. The theme of “movies—past and present”
was agreed upon for 2002. It was also decided that the fireworks
display should be moved down south for better viewing by residents.
-
The Black Diamond police department was unaware of the inconsistent patrol
of the lake. Kevin Esping has now assigned specific officers with
specific times they are to be on patrol. The city attorney has agreed
to have volunteers on the lake also. There may need to be some schooling
associated with being on the volunteer patrol. Bob Rothschilds suggested
that an item be put into the Black Diamond newsletter asking for volunteers
outside the lake area. Bob volunteered to get with Rick Luther, the
BD police chief and work out a schedule for the officers, and publish it
in our LSCC newsletter.
-
The newsletter editor needs a few Fourth of July recap articles from some
of the coordinators. Also, Orville wants an article about mail box
theft in the next newsletter.
-
Steve Garvich will host the “floating dock” party on August 19th and Cindy
and Sam Kerley will host the dock party on September 16th.
-
Janie will contact the fireworks people to see what happened at the end
of the display.
-
Repair of the clubhouse is complete. There still may be a leak in
the men’s room. Someone needs to look at the kitchen sink also.
Cindy Kerley has an issue with the amount of keys that are distributed.
Eric Cline would like to mow, weed whack, and weed the gardens in the front
of the clubhouse. It was moved and seconded to pay Eric $15 per time.
-
Bob Rothschilds had contacted his pest control agent to discuss pest control
of the clubhouse. The consensus is that nothing more needs to be
done, since the repair work took care of the moisture problem.
-
Carol is going to have Gary Farmer look into the roof situation.
Gary works for State Roofing and they are willing to help us out on the
cost. Ventilation holes also need to be put into the building.
-
Janie is to call and have the furnace maintained.
-
Annette expressed some concerns about the water quality of the creeks that
feed Lake Sawyer. She is going to get a sample to Bob for testing.
-
Carol read the treasurer’s report. Marcia Quigley finally paid off
her unpaid rent.
-
The next meeting is August 8th at 7:30pm
Motion to adjourn was seconded at 7:40 pm.
Respectively submitted
